Approximatelly 24km west of Kymi between the mountains of Mesovouni and Skotini lies the village of Metochi. The main part of the village has 2-storey stone-houses by the Metochiati river which other parts of the village are snowcapped houses built higher up on the mountains which others like Koutourlas are nearer to the beach of Metochi. The nearby cave of Kolethra, with the waterfall and the underground river is definitely worth visiting.
Steni is a popular winter destination in Evia. It is located in the central part of the prefecture at an altitude of 450m covered in firs, beech trees, chestnut trees, wild cherry trees and planes with crystal clear waters from various springs flowing through the area and songs of dozens of different kinds of birds filling the air. The region is covered in snow in the winter and as green as can bee all the other seasons.
Approximatelly 8km from Kymi lies the village Androniani, “hidden” amongst the olive, fig and cherry trees. It is the first village to see snow in the winter and the landscape is absolutely fantastic.
Approximatelly 95km from Chalkida towards the north of Evia and approx 10km from the Lake, Rovies are built on hills full of pine trees and olive groves that run along the north Euboic coastline. The beautiful pebble and sandy beaches as well as the excellent accommodation standards in the area attract many visitors every year.
In the north part of Evia, approc 97km from Chalkida towards Histiea lies the village of Vasilika. It is built in a pine forest that reaches down to the beach of Psaropouli and on a clear day you can see as far as the islands of Skopelos and Alonissos.
