Argosaronic Islands Museums - Historical & Folklore Museum (Spetses Island)
This imposing building with its high-ceilinged rooms houses the Spetses Museum, which contains exhibits that cover four millennia of cultural history. The exhibits include pottery from the Early Helladic period, tombstones and sculptures from the Roman period, 18th-century eastern and western style ceramics brought to the island by Spetsiot travellers, a collection of post-Byzantine and Russian icons, important relics from the 1821 War of Independence like the flag of the Revolution, the bones of Bouboulina, weapons as well as portraits of Spetsiot fighters.
Argosaronic Islands Museums - Historical Museum
(Hydra Island)
The Museum was founded in 1918 and is located in a traditional Hydriot mansion donated by the ship owner Gikas Koulouras. It houses a collection of portraits, an important collection of the town’s archives (18.000 documents) relating to the history and the culture of Hydra, small objects of the 18th and 19th century, various exhibits from the Balkan wars and from the First and Second World War.
Argosaronic Islands Museums - Archaeological Museum (Poros Island)
The Archaeological Museum of Poros was founded in 1960 and is located in Korizi square. The museum houses various finds from the Sanctuary of Poseidon, among which are a section of an Ionic column from the temple and a piece of the statue of Poseidon. It houses also finds and photographs of finds from ancient Troizen and from Methana.
Argosaronic Islands Museums - Archaeological Museum (Aegina Island)
The Archaeological Museum of Aegina was founded in 1828 by Ioannis Kapodistrias and contains ancient remains and relics. In the museum, there are different vessels, pottery, ceramics, alabasters, statuettes, inscriptions, coins, weapons and copper vessels. In the lobby of the museum, there is a representation of the first Greek residence, called "the white house". It had 2 floors and a laundry that was made of copper and embossed tombs from the cemetary of Rineias. The museum consists of 3 rooms in which all the exhibits can be seen.
