The Saronic Gulf is the largest in Greece. It extends, from the north, from the coast of the Attica periphery, to the northwest and west coasts of Korithos and finally to the southwest on the coasts of Argolida. The most important industrial units of Greece were created here.
The Saronic and Argolic Gulf are often referred to as one: the Argosaronic. The islands of the Argosaronic belong to the prefecture of Piraeus, one of the four prefectures of the Attica periphery.
The islands of the Argosaronic Gulf are located between the Saronic and Argosaronic Gulfs and are 7 in total. They are known for their lovely beaches, rich flora but also for their historical monuments. Due to their close distance to the capital, Athens, they are a popular destination for short and last minute vacations.
They are considered to be some of the most cosmopolitan islands in Greece, while their tourist infrastructure can satisfy the most demanding visitor.
