Evritania Museums - Museum of National Resistance in Koryschades

In May 1944, at the village school, the National Council meeting, which came from the First Free Elections, took place, with 176 participants as representatives of Greece. The national council approved the resolution: "All power derives from the people and is exercised by the people". The museum a historic landmark guests the photo exhibition of photographer of the National Resistance, Spyros Meletzis.

Evritania Museums - Museum of Viniani

In Viniani of Evritania and specifically in old Viniani there is a historical landmark "The School of Viniani", a place of worship as it is part of the areas history. On March 10th, 1994 the "Government of the Mountain", the first government of Liberated Greece, was composed at the School which to affect throughout the struggles of the country.

The Political Committee of National Liberation was composed which had a coordinative and leading role in the continuous victories of the Greeks. Viniani also played an important role on November 22nd 1942, when Aris Velouchiotis and Napoleon Zervas along with british saboteurs bombed the bridge of Gorgopotamus.

An effort is made to restore the damages done to the School (Museum) in order for people to learn about our history. There are plenty of photos and printed materials in the museum from those times as well as the Capital of Liberated Greece, Viniani.

Evritania Museums - Museum of Mikro Chorio (Little Village)

The museum is situated at the old school of M. Chorio and has 3 galleries. It contains rare photographs of the gliding of 1963, exhibits relevant to the resistance, partial printed materials and books of the time. The museum also accommodates traditional garments, folkloric art objects as well as ancient exhibits, ceramics etc. It also serves as a spiritual corner especially duting the summer.

Evritania Museums - Museum Of Proussos Monastery

The museum includes both historic and religious exhibits. The monastery has many exhibits such as books from the 15th and 16th century, manuscripts, pressed books, on of which dates back to 1821 and is thought to belong to Karaiskakis, as well as many canonicals. It is located 33 klm. from Karpenisi.
