Adamas Adamas

This modern seaside village, is in the bay of the island, one of the largest and safest natural bays of the Mediterranean, and is the largest tourist center of Milos. Adamas is the main port and the first picture you will see as you approach by boat.

This coastal, island state is composed of white houses with small flower gardens and narrow quiet streets, which together form a picture of exquisite Cycladic beauty. Adamas is full of life in the summer. In this village you can combine relaxation and tranquillity with its nightlife and entertainment while you it provides you everything that you need for a comfortable and pleasant stay: cafes, restaurants, ouzo, pizzas, steaks, souvlakis, bars, clubs, shops, supermarkets, banks, port authorities, customs, clinic, pharmacy, dental care, agent of Greek and international press, etc. This is where the nightlife exists, with bars of various music, rhythms and the tempo is high until the early hours.

Plaka Plaka

Plaka is the present capital of the island and one of the most intact capitals of the Cyclades. The name comes from the ground level on which the homes of the first inhabitants were built on, where Kastro could not any longer accommodate the entire population.

Built on a hill 220 meters above sea level, with island colour and Cycladic architecture, quaint, cobblestone streets originally built for protection against pirates, with small shops, restaurants and cafes with magnificent views over the bay of Milos, Plaka composes a scene of infinite beauty that you should visit and browse.

Triovasali Triovasali

Starting from the port before reaching Plaka, the first village is Triovasalos and Pera Triovasalos. These two almost adjacent villages, have been created on two neighbouring hills, they are densely populated and built like an amphitheatre, while they present a significant commercial traffic. The "Karodromos" in Triovasalos is a central point of the island, since there are several banks, public offices, cafes and shops. Finally, in both Triovasalos and Pera Triovasalos you can visit the two remarkable churches of these two villages, St. Spyridon and St. George respectively.

Pollonia Pollonia

Pollonia or Apollonia, is a picturesque fishing village of 300 inhabitants, built around a beautiful bay in the north-eastern tip of the island. Pollonia is the second port of the island Adamas and probably took its name from the temple of Apollo which was at the lighthouse of Pelekoudas (on the left of the village).

It is almost 10 km from Adamas and 14 km from Plaka, while the communication with Psathi, the harbor island of Kimolos, is done from here. Small boats, water taxis and ferry-boats will take you from Pollonia to Kimolos, in no more than 30 minutes.

TripitiTripiti

Tripiti is a well-preserved traditional village, almost joined with Plaka, built like an amphitheatre over the ruins of the classical city of Klima. The name comes from the soft volcanic rocks, which seemed pierced and also from the many holes that are carved into the rock on which it is built.

In the centre of the village, the church of St. Nicholas dominates and unique, picturesque, old windmills are preserved used for grinding grain and now most of them have been converted into apartments for rent.

In Tripiti you can enjoy panoramic views over the bay of Adamas and gourmet meals in the small taverns and restaurants of the village. Nearby you can visit the Catacombs and the Ancient Theatre by foot.

ZefiriaZefiria

Zefiria, is at the heart of Eastern Milos just 5.5 km from Adamas and 9 km from Plaka. Created by the Venetians in the 13th century, it flourished and became the capital of the island due to the presence of pirates and was abandoned in 1767 due to the destruction by the earthquakes and because of epidemics caused by gases of faults which forced the residents to relocate.

Today Zefiria is a vibrant, rural village with about 150 residents and passing by from there you get to the beaches of Agia Kyriaki and Palaiochorio.

Finally, in this town the old Cathedral of the island is saved, Panagia i Portiani, along with the church of St. Nicholas and every 15th of August the memory of the Virgin Mary is celebrated and one of the major festivals of the island is organized.
