Karpathos Island, Olympos Village Olympos

Olympos is an impressive traditional village situated at the northern part of the island, at a distance of some 58 kilometers far from Pigadia.

The village combines an excellent natural environment with a very interesting traditional architectural style. The locals are very hospitable and keep intact their old traditions which they respect very much.

Karpathos Island, Othos Village Othos

This mountainous village is just a few kilometres west of Aperi, 12 kilometres north - west of Pigadia, lying on a high spot of an altitude of 500 m.

The beauty of Othos is increased by its many traditional houses painted in lilac and white.

Karpathos Island, Pigadia Village Pigadia

Pigadia - the word means "wells" in Greek Language - took its name from the many wells which existed there and is a newer town with about 2500 inhabitants and has been built amphitheatrically around the natural port.

On the left side of the entrance of the harbour dominates a rock where the ruins of the ancient acropolis of the island.

The town is situated at the southeastern coast of the island at the foot of the mountain Kali Limni ("the nice lake" in Greek), built on the place of the ancient settlement of Poseidion. Pigadia has been developed to a small modern town, thanks to the aid of the locals who have migrated to America.Every kind and category of accommodations can be found in Pigadia as well as various taverns, cafes and a few bars. Pigadia consist the centre of tourist life in Karpathos.

Aperi

Aperi is a wonderful mountainous village that it is distinguished from the rest of the Karpathian villages for its shine. It has existed as the capital of Karpathos island from 1700 until 1892.

Very close to the village you will find the beaches of Kyra Panagia and Achata.

Karpathos Island, Finiki Village Finiki

Finiki Village is standing on the west coast of Karpathos, 21 kilometres from Pigadia.

It is a scenic and cute coastal settlement with a small port, suitable for mooring of small fishing and tourist boats.

Lefkos

The coastal village of Lefkos (White) is laying a few kilometres south-west of Mesohori, north-west of Pigadia. The bright green valley of Lefkos, with pine and olive trees, leads to indented shores with deep blue waters. It is rightfully considered one of the most beautiful spots of Karpathos. It is an ideal place for your summer escape. Rooms and apartments for rent, hotels, taverns and cafes can be found in Lefkos.

Menetes

Built as an eagle nest, in the rocks Menetes enjoy the view to the bight of "Vrondis", where Pigadia are located.

Its little whitewashed houses with their yellow and blue shutters and doors are creating, with the narrow alleys and the flowered balconies and yards, a wonderful and attractive scenery.

Worth - seeing are the Church of the Assumption, the Byzantine Church of Agios Mamas and the archaeological collection of the village, exhibiting various findings from the surrounding area.

Karpathos Island, Mesochori Village Mesochori

Mesochori is a scenic village built on a height, 31 kilometers northwestern to Pigadia, with breathtaking view and a traditional architecture, which make it a pole of attraction for many visitors.

Karpathos Island, Volada Village Volada

Volada is situated right next to Aperi. Protected by Virgin Mary "Plagia". It is a settlement built among trees, with traditional white-washed houses of typical Karpathian architecture, narrow alleys and balconies full of flowers. If you are fond of walking, then you will love the place, as before entering the village there are certain paths leading to the top of the mountain "Kali Limni".

Karpathos Island, Arkasa Village Arkasa

Arkasa, one of the developing tourist centres of Karpathos, lives a modern life together with very old memories. In Palaiokastro - that so much bravely stands against all the sea waves of the Karpathian sea - people already live from the prehistoric times. And appears that they have never left.

Karpathos Island, Amoopi Village Amoopi

It is found half way from the airport on the way to Pigadia (roughly 6Km away), and also 6 Km from the nearest village of Menetes.

Asphalt motorway connects Amoopi with the all villages of Karpathos. Public buses and taxis serve daily the Ammoopi region.

The settlement offers facilities for accommodation and eating and the homonymous beach is one of the most beautiful and best organized beaches of the island.
